Keep Your Eyes On Jesus

I was reflecting this morning on our marriage, Fred’s and mine. We have been married for 32 years. Marriage is never smooth sailing every day and we have sure had our rocky times. This life, though, with my husband has been such a blessing. I can truly say that the rocky times were when one or both of us weren’t focused on the Lord. This might surprise you to hear this, but when my focus is on my husband, or anything else for that matter…bumps in our marital road will occur. It happens every time. But…when our eyes are on our Lord Jesus Christ, when we are walking with Him, our marriage thrives.

So, as I reflected on our marriage this morning, I was overwhelmed with the desire for each of your marriages to grow stronger and stronger in the Lord and with each other. I grieved those whose marriages are wrestling and I encourage you to turn your eyes to the Lord, not on each other, not on the struggles, not on the world…but on the Lord. As you work on your relationship with the Lord, every other relationship, especially your marriage will mend and grow closer than you ever thought possible.

Join me in daily humbling ourselves before our Holy God, grow in Him, pray for your spouse, and with thankful hearts give Him thanks for your marriage.
